²² On the sixth day, they collected double the amount of bread, two omers for each person. All the leaders of the community came to tell Moses, ^23 [a]and he said to them, “This is what the Lord ordered: ‘Tomorrow is the Sabbath, a day of rest consecrated to the Lord. Bake what you have to bake, and boil what you have to boil. All that is left over should be stored until the morning.’ ” ²⁴ They preserved it until the morning, as Moses had ordered, and it did not go rancid, nor did they find worms in it.
